Which divisions are hiring graduates in 2010?
We are recruiting for our investment banking, global markets and corporate infrastructure divisions, principally for New York but some openings may be available in other North American locations.

Does Nomura offer internship programs? 
Yes, we offer 10-12 week programs which take place in the summer. Our internship programs give students valuable on-the-job, industry experience.

Which academic qualifications must I have?
We encourage applications from all disciplines and look for candidates who have earned a minimum 3.5 (or equivalent) in their degree program. It is essential that you have an interest in finance, a desire to work in the investment banking industry and are numerate.

Which characteristics do you look for in candidates? 
We look for people who are intelligent, entrepreneurial, determined, creative, team-spirited and passionate about succeeding.

May I apply to more than one division? 
We encourage candidates to do as much research as possible beforehand to understand which business area would best match their skill set and interests.   In doing so, candidates will be equipped to discuss their choices, demonstrating enthusiasm and knowledge of the various roles.

What should I expect during the interview process?
For Investment Banking and Global Markets: If you are selected for first round interviews, you will have an on-campus interview, one-on-one interviews with junior representatives. During the final rounds, you will have four 30-minute interviews one-on-one with senior business representatives.

What is Nomura looking for in candidates?

What should I wear to my interview?
Our dress code is business casual but a suit is appropriate for an interview.

Would Nomura sponsor work authorization? 
Yes, Nomura will sponsor those students we offer, but the North America Home Office will ultimately make the decision as to whether this will be granted.
