Nomura's global markets business handles client transactions for corporations, governments and investment funds around the world. We also act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, currencies, commodities and derivatives, as well as structured financial products.

Since we acquired Lehman Brothers' operations in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East, we have become a world-class player in both fixed income and equities. We have added a new international client base and our systems are globally integrated. We are focused on delivering high value-added products and solutions to our clients by enhancing our product development expertise in key areas such as derivatives. Fixed income
We are now rolling out these product lines globally. Our aim? To become a top-tier player in our target markets. Our focus is on liquid businesses such as interest rates, currency and flow credit trading. To give an example of the speed at which we are growing, our fixed income headcount outside Japan has increased by 300% since 2008.

We aim to become the world's leading provider of liquidity. We offer our clients the best execution, based on our cutting-edge technology and highly diverse sources of order flow. We are now connected to 30 different exchanges, and our product is live with over 300 vendors.
