Corporate Social Responsibility
Nomura has a long history of contributing to the communities in which it does business. In New York, the firm sponsored a concert at Carnegie Hall on October 23, 2006, to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Nomura Holdings, Inc. The firm sponsored "Turning Point: Oribe and the Arts of Sixteenth-Century Japan" at the Metropolitan Museum in New York from October 2003-January 2004. The exhibit featured more than 200 works of art from the Momoyama period (1573-1615). The firm also sponsored the New York City Opera's performances at World Expo 2005 in Japan. Nomura is also very proud of its University Outreach Program, where senior executives at the firm meet with students to discuss the challenges facing a global securities firm and career opportunities on Wall Street.
