We encourage applications from all disciplines and look for candidates who have a minimum 2.1 degree (or equivalent ). It is essential that you have an interest in finance, a desire to work in the investment banking industry and are numerate.

The application form is your chance to make a strong first impression. The following six tips should help you fill out the form:

  1. Research the business area that you feel best corresponds to your skill set and interests. Ensure that you areclear onyour motivation for applying to this area.
  2. Apply to the correct entry level programme (e.g. Analyst programme for graduates; Associate programme for MBAs with a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant work experience)
  3. Tailor your answers according to the application. Be original.
  4. Check your grammar and spelling carefully before you submit your application.
  5. Take your time with questions. We recommend that you print out a copy of the application form and think through your answers before filling it in online.
  6. Print another copy of your form once you have finished so you can remember your answers if you are invited to interview.

Screening

Applications are screened according to academic qualifications, work experience, language proficiencies, extra-curricular activities and other awards or achievements.  If your application meets our selection criteria, you will be invited to a first round interview.

First round interviews
If you reach the first round interview stage you will receive an email that will invite you to participate in a phone or face-to-face interview 

The interview is an opportunity for you to tell us why you think you are suitable for the position you have applied for. The interviewers will ask you a number of competency based questions.

Final round interviews
If you perform well in the first round you will be invited to participate in final round interviews.   Depending on where you are located the interviews will be either phone, VC or face to face. Final round interviews are competency-based interviews conducted by senior members of the business area you applied for.

Internships:   Early deadline Sunday 13 December 2009 / Final deadline Sunday 10 January 2010 (we recruit on a rolling basis and will therefore commence interviewing from the early deadline).
