- We’re a rapidly growing area of Nomura’s business and offer a full range of services and advice to international clients
- We’re looking to hire for graduates to work globally within our advisory sector teams
- Our practical training programme ensures our graduates are contributing to our business as soon as possible.
What is it?
Nomura’s Corporate Finance Group provides the full range of services and advice to clients across Western, Central and Eastern Europe. These include services on a local and international basis such as:
- Mergers & Acquisitions,
- Divestitures
- JVs / partnerships / alliances
- Privatisations
- Corporate restructurings
- Strategic advisory
- Equity and equity-linked products for initial, primary and secondary offerings
- Corporate broking and investor relations
We also provide European transaction services to other large corporates, particularly in Japan and Asia. Our European team numbers around 90 and includes dedicated legal and transaction support staff. The Group’s London activities are supported by a network of 12 European offices.
Unlike regionally or nationally structured teams common in other banks, Nomura coordinates on a global level within the sector teams. For example, you’ll spend as much of your day speaking to colleagues following the same sector in Japan, the rest of Asia and the US, as you will speaking to colleagues in the same room. Most of our deals are cross-border, so for execution (not only in origination) you’ll work as part of an integrated team spanning other countries. This ensures graduates develop a global viewpoint, and in a few years this earlier first-hand exposure will become valuable on-the-ground experience when making overseas trips to various parts of the world.
We’re rapidly growing this area of the business and have big ambitions to expand our operations across Europe and also Asia, where historically Nomura has a strong presence. With a proven track record in cross-border deals (Japan-Europe) as well as intra-Europe and Europe-US deals, or aim is to compete with the top European and US firms. We’ve already become a key player in a number of sectors including CEE, Healthcare, Industrials, TMT, Auto, FIG and Infrastructure.
