THE OPPORTUNITY
If you want to gain a clear overview of a fast-moving global business, then consider choosing one of our Corporate Infrastructure programs. These programs in Finance, Technology and Operations will give you product-specific training in your chosen area. On completion, you'll be assigned immediately to a group within corporate infrastructure.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
You can apply for an Analyst position if you have or expect a minimum 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in any degree discipline. A Masters degree is advantageous but not a requirement. You should be highly numerate and a strong communicator. Fluency in a second European language would be beneficial.
WHAT ROLES ARE AVAILABLE?
Finance plays a critical role, providing business advice and ensuring control of the global franchise. This division manages our capital, funding and liquidity requirements and interacts with our creditors and rating agencies. The Finance team is a key partner with the rest of the business in developing the future economic shape of Nomura, providing solid and reliable controls and facilitating accounting and reporting.
This is a two-year rotational program. You will learn how we manage the flow of money in and out of the business through internal control systems. You will also enjoy an excellent overview of Nomura's performance, including revenues, expenses, regulatory capital and headcount. You can expect to partner closely with senior business leaders in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.
Responsible for the management and execution of transactions that maximizes profitability and minimizes risks. Operations work closely with Sales, Trading and Technology teams and develop innovative and efficient approaches to our clients' investment, liquidity and risk management needs. It is the support and control infrastructure that enables Nomura to develop and deliver world-class services around the globe.
Join Operations and you will be part of team developing innovative and efficient approaches to our clients' investment, liquidity and risk management needs. This is a two-year rotational program where we will provide ongoing training and support and give you valuable exposure and knowledge of the industry so that you can make significant contributions to the division.
Technology at Nomura involves working with - and designing - the Information Technology and Risk Management systems that can often give us that crucial, split-second edge over our competitors, as well as every other aspect of our global technology platform. The Technology teams focus on facilitating business growth by building and supporting scalable global front to infrastructure, whilst continuing to control operational risks and costs.
Expect to get involved in developing new applications to implement cutting-edge standards, constantly staying at the forefront of technology. You will develop an impressive level of technical knowledge and build your skills in systems development and support, using a range of technology packages (VB, SQL, Perl, C++, Java, XML, XSLT, JSP). You will gain an understanding of different financial products (such as equities, bonds, futures, options, swaps and exotic derivatives) and build complex and valuable knowledge of Risk Management methods, techniques and live trade analysis.
Identifying and analyzing operational, credit and market risk, as well as shaping risk appetite and risk decisions to give us the best possible standing in the global marketplace. Sound risk management is central to the successful execution of our business.
