Sadeq Sayeed to retire

Sadeq Sayeed, Chief Executive Officer of Nomura EMEA, today announced his intention to retire from Nomura. He will stay in his post until a successor is appointed as part of an orderly management transition. Sadeq was a key architect of Nomura's acquisition and integration of Lehman Brothers' European and Middle East operations in 2008, and previously served as senior advisor to the board of Nomura Holdings for seven years.

"As Chief Executive in EMEA, Sadeq successfully integrated the two organisations to create a powerful platform in the region," said Takumi Shibata, Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer of Nomura Holdings. "We are very grateful for all that Sadeq achieved in the last 10 years, and especially in the past 18 months."
