Russell Pullan - Director

Russell Pullan

   

Russell joined Nomura in August 2006 to start New Energy & Clean Technology Ventures. Previously, he was Head of Venture Capital for Carbon Trust, the UK's leading low-carbon investor. He has twenty years' of international experience as a venture capitalist, successful entrepreneur and developer of technology and environment-related businesses.

Russell’s early focus on investment into clean energy and environmental technologies began in Asia. Since then his international investments and solid track-record has led him to be considered a pioneer in the rapidly growing sector of cleantech venture capital.

He is member of the CalSTRS Clean Technology Advisory Board and a frequent speaker at industry conferences.

Russell has an HonorsBSc from Canada and an MBA from INSEAD in France. Russell is on the board of SpectraSensors which is the team’s first portfolio company.

Whitney Rockley - Principal

Whitney Rockley

 

Whitney joined Nomura in February 2007.

Prior to Nomura Whitney started up and managed corporate venture capital funds for a large Canadian power and water company (EPCOR) and a large Canadian oil and gas company (EnCana – previously PanCanadian Energy).  While at EnCana, she was seconded to Nth Power, a leading energy venture capital fund in San Francisco.  In addition to Whitney’s venture capital experience, she has extensive operating experience in the areas of analytics, finance and environment.

Whitney has a very positive track record for investing in this sector with experience investing in carbon credit trading funds.

Whitney is on the board of Novinium, Inc. and is an observer on the boards of SpectraSensors, Inc. and DeepFlex Inc.  Whitney is also a member of the EU advisory board for the Cleantech Network.

Whitney holds a BComm (honours) from Canada and an MBA (honours) from the University of Calgary.

Susana Belisario - Research

Susana Belisario

 

Susana joined Nomura in September 2006. She is also our operations manager, with previous experience working for an international legal firm.

Susana is responsible for the initial scan and management of new investment proposals and supports on due diligence.

She has a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering and is fluent in English and Spanish.
