International Bond Funds

International Equity Funds

Market Neutral Strategy Funds consist of both long and short holdings of approximately the same amount. They are expected to have less exposure to an entire equity market fluctuation, by purchasing stocks identified by the investment advisor as undervalued and simultaneously borrowing and selling short approximately equal amount of stocks identified as overvalued.

Money Market Funds are meant to maintain a high degree of liquidity while providing current income, by investing in instruments with average residual maturities not exceeding 12 months (such as Treasury securities; securities issued or guaranteed as to interest or principal by agencies or government instruments; purchase agreements collateralised by such securities; high quality commercial paper;  certificates of deposit; time deposits; banker acceptances; short-term obligations, etc.). Alongside classic Money-Market Funds, NBL can handle funds with Constant Net Asset Value set e.g. at USD 0.01 per share, where all excess amounts are accrued to be distributed once a month.

Monthly Income Distribution Funds are funds with a regular distribution policy, via dividend paid to shareholders, consisting of net investment income and/or net realized capital gain.

Mortgage Backed Securities Funds objective is to seek high levels of income by investing in Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS), Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS), Asset Backed Securities (ABS) and equivalent in nature, such securities having intermediate/anticipate maturity and coupons.

Senior Loan Funds also called syndicated loans, senior secured floating rate loans. They are typically originated, negotiated and structured by a US or foreign commercial bank, investment bank, insurance company, finance company or other financial institution for a lending syndicate of financial institutions, such as corporations, partnerships and other business entities (“borrowers”) which operate in various industries. Senior Loans pay interest at rates which are re-determined periodically by reference to a base lending rate, such as the London InterBank Offered Rate, plus a premium.

Special funds consist of Hedge Funds appealing to futures management policy, global macro strategy, unlisted securities, long/short strategy.

Funds with Structured Notes Investment objective is to achieve steady capital appreciation in all market conditions with minimal drawdown, low volatility, limited correlation to the equity and bond markets and to provide investors with protection of at least 100% of their capital investment provided that such investors remain in the fund until the maturity of the Fixed Rate Medium Term Notes in which the fund is investing.

Feeder Funds conduct virtually all of its investing through another fund (called the Master Fund), which is similar to a Fund-of-Funds arrangement, except that the Master Fund Manager is responsible for managing the underlying investments.

Forex Management Funds objective is to hedge the currency risk of certain underlying assets by entering into currency swap agreements, futures contracts, options, forward currency exchange rate contracts and total return swap transactions (also called “Hedging contracts”).

Funds of Hedge Funds commonly known as “Hedge Funds”, with characteristics such as: sold as private placement; established in less-regulated  domicile; using gearing; applying for an advisor performance fee; using short selling techniques and derivatives.

Funds of Private Equity Funds commonly structured as Private Limited Partnerships, and formerly called Venture Capital funds, these funds commit capital mainly in unlisted small sized companies, directly or via a Special Purpose Vehicle, especially in Japan where Limited Partnership is not treated as “securities” under the securities law.

High Yield Bond Funds commonly known as “High Yield Bond”, any fixed income securities rated Ba1 or lower by Moody’s, or BB+ or lower by Standard & Poor’s, or unrated securities deemed by the Investment Advisor to be of comparable quality.
