Shigeki Sakaki Senior Economist and Head of Macro Economic Group (NAM-TOKYO)

Shigeki is our leading economist and the head of Economic Research Department. Shigeki is responsible for helping to determine NAM's future outlook for the global investment environment. Through detailed forecasting and careful analysis, he plays a crucial role in assisting our other investment professionals in deciding where their "bets" will be placed for any given period. Shigeki came to NAM in 1996 after serving as a Senior Economist at Nomura Research Institute for six years. Overall, he has twenty years experience as an economist alone. He has a BA in Economics from Waseda University, Japan, and a Master's degree in Philosophy of Economics from the University of Oxford, UK.
