Yuichi Murao, CFA Chief Portfolio Manager, Chairman of the Japanese Stock Selection Committee, Japanese Equity (NAM-TOKYO)

As Chairman of the Japanese Stock Selection Committee (SSC), Yuichi is responsible for leading our stock selection efforts in Japan. In this role, his tasks include monitoring our comprehensive universe of local companies and overseeing the rigorous bottom-up screening process that those organizations included in the universe undergo. In addition, Yuichi handles day-to-day management of some of our most prominent North American institutional clients. He has spent his entire twenty year career at NAM, beginning as an Assistant Portfolio Manager in 1990 before being promoted to Portfolio Manager in 1993. Yuichi became a Senior Portfolio Manager in 2001 and works in that capacity today. He is a CMA, has a BA in Economics from Hitotsubashi University, Japan, and an MBA from London Business School.
